2021 Honda Pilot Announced
Brought to you by Pearson Honda
Everyone knows, year after year, that Honda is creating the best vehicles you could ever ask for. No matter what is changing, or what isn't, there is a real trust in the engineers at Honda to get it right, and they always do. That's why, as Honda announces the 2021 Honda Pilot, we already know this is going to be a very special model that will leave us feeling impressed, and feel like we need to add another vehicle to our driveway. How has Honda stepped up their game with the Pilot? Well, in this case, they have a new Special Edition, which bundles in premium features, but they have also made a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters standard across the lineup! You'll also find some changes to the LX trim, including dual-zone automatic climate control. Interested in finding out more? Keep reading down below to see what else the 2021 Pilot has to offer.
What changes have been made to the trim lineup?
Honda never wants their vehicles to ever grow stale, which is why they are always tweaking and changing the smallest details. Some of the trims, like the EX-L, comes with features like a power driver's seat with two-position memory settings, leather seats, and even second-row sunshades. The SE option throws in a foot-activated hands-free access power tailgate, roof rails, a wireless phone charger, and front and rear skid garnishes. Something like the Touring model includes heated second-row outboard seats, Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System, in-car Wi-Fi, exterior styling enhancements to the door handles and headlights, parking sensors, and Blu-Ray based rear-seat entertainment. We also have to talk about the Elite trim, which includes auto-dimming and power-folding side mirrors, second-row Captain's Chairs, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and a dual moonroof.
Why is the Pilot so popular?
A few of the reasons why the Pilot continues to draw customers in is its family-friendliness and versatility. Not many other models in the segment offering seating for eight people, as you can have three-people sit in both the second rows and the third rows. You can even make that experience nicer with easy third-row access with the available One-Touch Walk-In features. Another major perk is the fact that every single Pilot comes with Honda Sensing. This is a suite of driver-assistive technology that makes sure all of your passengers are well taken care of, and you, the driver, can make more informed decisions. People also enjoy Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an available 8-inch display, wireless smartphone charging, and CabinTalk in-vehicle public address system.
How does the Pilot drive?
Honda has made sure that the Pilot does not just drive well on the road, but can handle off-roading and all-weather driving events. This is accomplished mostly with the available intelligent Variable Torque Management system, which includes true torque-vectoring. Every single all-wheel-drive model gets this system, along with an hydrualically-actuated rear differential, which helps to dynamically distribute torque between the left and right wheels in the rear.
