Honda TrailSport Capability

All Honda vehicles have several all-wheel-drive systems designed to tackle terrain and weather. These all-wheel-drive systems channel all the available power whenever and wherever you need it. The all-wheel-drive capabilities of the TrailSport are all available on future versions of the TrailSport, and best of all, your all-wheel-drive ability will help you power through all kinds of challenging conditions by using all different types of sensors and other inputs. Honda offers two different all-wheel-drive systems: Real Time AWD and intelligent Variable Torque Management. Both of these systems send instantaneous power to the rear wheels, which will enhance your overall stability. If you decide on the -VTM4 system, you will get torque vectoring and even more control for your Honda!

Your roads will always change thanks to the weather, but with the simple press of a button from the driver, your  Intelligent Traction Management system will spring into action! If you go with the Passport or Pilot, your all-wheel-drive systems will come with Mud and Sand mode, and the Ridgeline will come with all-wheel-drive as standard, and you also get a Snow mode if you happen to travel out of state. These modes significantly adjust the throttle, shifting, torque distribution, and Vehicle Stability Assist, giving you the perfect driving conditions for any terrain. Continuing your momentum is needed in certain situations, especially if there is a ton of mud; your Mud mode will then deal with upshifts to increase wheel torque while adjusting to the VSA so you get more wheel slip. Also, driving on soft sand will call for more aggressive pedal tuning to minimize the throttle delay. That's when Sand mode springs into action!

All TrailSport models are unique for their smooth-riding unibody cab and bed, which come with an integrated framework more robust than most vehicles on the market. Also, around 45% of body-on-frame uses special high-strength and ultra-strength steel, adding even more rigidity without any undue weight. You also get independent multi-link suspensions that provide your Honda a smooth ride, whether on or off the road. Your TrailSport can also go over all kinds of dirt and gravel. These are just a few ways that your Honda TrailSport has your back!

All TrailSport versions of the Passport, Pilot, and Ridgeline come with i-VTM4 AWD systems that will allow you to tow up to 5,000 pounds thanks to the powerful engines. This is enough power to haul around a 24-foot camper, a trailer with two side-by-sides, or a 22-foot boat. In addition, when you take a peak under the hood of the Ridgeline, Pilot, and Passport TrailSport versions, you will get up to 550 horsepower, which is the same amount of power that is used to haul around the twin-turbocharged Ridgeline Baja race truck through the desert.
